Quality control is guaranteed by the operators during all stages of work as well as by the QC process that works horizontally during acceptance, production and final shipment. The function of the testing department is to check that the material purchased for the pieces complies with the tolerances indicated in the specifications. The number of samples of the material to be checked at receiving is deduced from the supplier’s qualification and the LQA (control frequency). In regards to the articles produced, all the first pieces of the batches are inspected and then another piece is inspected during the processing cycle. This process ensures that the work cycle is in correct compliance.
During the early stages of work, tests are performed in the testing room using measurement and control instruments that are calibrated regularly. These are comprised of instruments that are safe and simple to operate, such as gauges, micrometers and digital altimeters; pass/fail buffers and customized control templates; and tools with the most advanced technology available.
Production inspection: Most of the items produced internally are associated with a control plan, where, according to the criticality of the piece, certain measurements are defined according to specifications for bench testing. This method is required to ensure the compliance of the dimensions after the processing stage on the tool machines. If the piece is out of tolerance, action can be taken before it is finished.
The testing room has many high-quality measurement instruments. These include: DEA three-dimensional measuring machines with software for testing with 3D mathematical models; profilometer and roughness tester for surface testing; calibration bench for testing and calibrating control instruments; instruments for checking the hardness and thickness of surface coatings; as well as a wide range of other conventional control instruments for bench testing (exclusive inspection equipment in addition to that used in production), including fiber optic endoscopes for visual inspection. All the details are checked and recorded within the management system in order to certify their compliance.
